side-lying hip abduction strengthens hip abductors by lifting the top leg toward ceiling with straight knee.

How it is done

Lie on one side ( Note - Exercising leg on top), bend the bottom knee by 90° and keep the top knee straight. Keeping knee straight move the leg towards ceiling, lower down the leg back to starting position and repeat.
